Scholarships are awarded to students for being oustanding in one way or another. Here are some of the scholarships available to CS students:

Scholarship for Women of Color in Technology
  1. Each recipient must be a woman of color enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University(minimum 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring).
  2. Each recipient must be Computer Science, Data Science, or Mathematics & Statistics major.
  3. Each recipient must be Sophmore, Junior, or Senior status.
  4. International students are eligible.
  5. Applicants will respond to the following prompt: Please describe the way in which you will help women’s education in the technology field after you graduate and settle into your career.

Gerry Cichanowski Computer Science Scholarship
  1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University, on the Winona campus (minimum of 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring).
  2. Each recipient must be declared Computer Science major who has taken at least 4 core program courses from WSU on the Winona campus, and must be enrolled in at least 2 Winona campus computer science classes.
  3. Each recipient must be Junior or Senior status.
  4. Each recipient must have a major GPA of 2.85 or higher.

Buhler Memorial Scholarship
  1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time at Winona State University.
  2. Each recipient must be classified as a Junior or Senior and be in good standing at Winona State University with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  3. Each recipient must be a declared major in Winona State University’s Computer Science or Management Information Systems programs.

  1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time or part-time at Winona State University-Rochester Center.
  2. Each recipient must be Junior or Senior in good standing at Winona State University with a minimum GPA of 3.25.
  3. Each recipient must be declared a major in Winona State University's Computer Science Program.
  4. Each recipient must submit an essay describing their future goals.

  1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University, on the Winona campus (minimum of 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring).
  2. Each recipient must be declared Computer Science major or Management Information Systems.
  3. Each recipient must be Junior or Senior status.
  4. Each recipient must have a major GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time.
  2. Each recipient must be a declared major in Computer Science .
  3. Each recipient must be junior or senior statusand in good standing at Winona State University with an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 and with a minimum Computer Science GPA of 3.0.
  4. Each recipient must submit a one to two page essay describing why they have chosen Computer Science as a major and what their future professoinal goals/objectives are.
  5. Preference will be given to an immigrant from another country.
