My name is Rachel Harjes and I am a Junior Biology major from Big Lake, MN. People need to step up and help each other out, especially in times of need. I took this trip because of the golden rule: “Treat others the way you would want to be treated.” If devastation would ever occur in Minnesota like it did in Louisiana, I would hope that people from all over would be willing to come up here and help us rebuild. I learned that I do not need to meet people directly to touch their lives. People I have never met are benefiting from the work my team completed while down in New Orleans.
