Winona State University Travel Study to India

About This Travel Study

Experience life in India’s Rajasthan state on a meaningful and transformative travel study! Visit a remote mountain community that has partnered with Free The Children/Me to We and work alongside local families on a sustainable development project. Challenge your perspective of the world as you take part in dynamic discussions and workshops with faulty members and learn firsthand how issues in India, such as the caste system, impact access to resources like education, clean water and health care. We can’t wait to host you!

Have questions? Want to learn more?

We will be holding TWO informational Q & A sessions in October.

  • Tuesday, October 18th - 6:00pm Kryzsko Commons(KC) - 100 Student Activity Center (outside student union)
  • Wednesday, October 19th - 4:00pm Kryszko Commons (KC) 203 & 204 Dining Room (across from Jack Kane Dining hall)

India: Expect the Unexpected

Travel with WSU faculty and Me to We staff on a service trip to beautiful India and see for yourself one of the most diverse regions of the world.

Visit beautiful Udaipur, the “city of lakes,” where your senses will be overwhelmed with the aroma of samosas cooking in street stalls, the vibrant colours of sari-clad women and the sound of hundreds of conversations in dozens of languages and dialects and the thick, sticky heat of India.

Travel on winding roads to one of Free The Children’s rural partner communities where you will spend your days building a school and getting to know some of the most marginalized people in the world. You will experience intensive leadership training, analyse the complex social issues that you see along your journey and think critically about how you are interconnected with the issues that affect India and Asia as a whole.

Experience first-hand the smells, colours and sounds of a vibrant and dynamic country.
