My name is Alex Carroll and I am from Farmington, Minnesota. I am a first year Computer Science student. Ever since Hurricane Katrina came and went I have been interested in what has been going on there. When I saw the email about the course I knew that it was something that I wanted to be involved in. The biggest lesson that I learned is that you can learn about the Hurricane, the aftermath, the recovery, and everything that goes with it all you want but you do not really understand the full consequences of everything until you are down there and helping the recovery and seeing the devastation first hand.
