CS 366 XML Term Project General Information

The term project is a group presentation. The length of the presentation is 30 minutes. (20 minutes for the team of one-person.) The presentation should be technical. A demonstration showing your topic in action will be required. The presentation date is June 28.

The topic could be in one of the following categories.

1. An XML standard, recommendation, or application. The topics include but not limited to

  • XLink/XPointer
  • VoiceXML
  • MathXML
  • SVG
  • KML
  • XBRL
  • WAML
  • XML Encryption
  • XML Signature
  • RSS/Atom
  • SBML
  • RDF
  • OWL
  • 2. XML support of a database product. such as MySQL, Berkeley DB, and SQL Server .

    3. Application areas and technologies such as Ajax, e-business, e-commerce, bioinformatics, geographics, service-oriented architecture, and data mashups.

    5. Other interesting, relevant topics. Extensive lists of topics could be found at W3C and Cover Pages.

    6. The class on June 16 is the project work time. Submit a PowerPoint draft to the instructor by 9:00 PM of June 16. The draft serves as a plan of your presentation. It should contain at least a title slide, the outline, the introduction, the sketch of the presentation, and a list of references. It should also show how the contents of the presentation will be organized. You are encouraged to accomplish as much as possible. This part counts as 20% of the term project.
